Climate & Sustainability Reporting FAQs
Does Australian Sustainability Reporting Standards (AASB S2) climate reporting apply to my business, and when do we need to start?
Australian Sustainability Reporting Standards – Climate‑related Disclosures (AASB S2) requirements apply to many Australian organisations, with a phased introduction from 1 January 2025 depending on reporting group size. If you’re unsure which category you fall into or when your obligations begin, we can assess your position and prepare a practical roadmap.

What does sustainability reporting include beyond climate metrics?
Sustainability reporting spans environmental, social and governance (ESG) topics. While climate‑related disclosures (risk and GHG emissions) are a priority under AASB S2, reports can also cover environment (waste, biodiversity), social (workforce wellbeing, community impact) and governance (ethics, risk management) – based on your materiality assessment.
What’s the first step to start sustainability reporting?
Most organisations begin with a materiality assessment to identify relevant ESG risks and opportunities and determine the metrics to include. We then develop a practical roadmap suited to your size, maturity and regulatory obligations.
AASB S2 is now highly relevant for many businesses. Start with our free AASB S2 Readiness Checklist
Which ESG issues are “material” for our report?
We work with you to identify and prioritise material ESG issues, aligning them with stakeholder expectations and strategic objectives. The outcome is an actionable ESG roadmap and a report that reflects what genuinely matters to your organisation.
Do we need to integrate financial and non‑financial data for sustainability reporting?
Yes. We support integrated reporting by helping you connect financial and non‑financial data, ensuring your ESG disclosures are transparent, credible and aligned with existing reporting structures.
